ROSS CREEK PARK Conceptual Plan

The conceptual design for Clifton, TN transforms Ross Creek Park as a recreation destination with safe, ADA compliant access to the Tennessee River while cherishing and protecting its natural beauty and biodiversity. Through the addition of adaptive kayak launches, riparian shoreline stabilization, stormwater mitigation strategies, multi-use trails, event and social gathering spaces, and numerous camping and RV opportunities, the proposal for Ross Creek Park will highlight Clifton as a destination that not only captivates with its natural beauty but also enriches the experiences of those who visit.

Project Goals

Based on the feedback received from Clifton’s Local Leadership Team as well as the community-wide survey, the Tennessee RiverLine Planning and Design team has identified 3 primary project goals that the park design at Ross Creek seeks to accomplish:

  • Provide safe, dedicated, and accessible river access for Non-motorized users

  • Celebrate, protect, and restore the biodiversity of Ross Creek’s ecosystem

  • Establish Ross Creek as a camping and outdoor recreation destination

By enhancing equitable river access, restoring and educating through ecological stewardship, and becoming a signature destination along the Tennessee River for outdoor recreation, Ross Creek will serve as a catalyst for social connection, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
