The cover of the 2023 Tennessee RiverLine Annual Report depicts events facilitated by Tennessee RiverTowns Program communities and the Tennessee RiverLine team throughout 2023. Over 100 events, including outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, outreach, and public exhibits of conceptual designs were held to connect the region's people and communities with the Tennessee River.

In 2023, partnerships enabled thousands of residents and visitors to engage with the river landscape through recreation and stewardship programs. We fostered growth in paddlesports leadership and participation in underserved communities. Our Community Planning Initiative sparked local visions for North America’s next great regional trail system in communities lacking such creative capacity.

We introduced the Plan Your Journey toolkit for safe river experiences and to showcase Tennessee River communities. Partnering with Ken Whiting, we garnered international attention for our initiative and river. These achievements, among others, generated extensive earned media, reaching over 304 million viewers. This exposure opens new opportunities to share our story nationwide and worldwide.

We're excited to present these impacts, and more, in our 2023 Annual Report.

We are pleased to share our many achievements in our 2022 Annual Report.

In 2022, the power of partnerships provided opportunities for nearly 1,400 residents and visitors to experience our treasured river through innovative recreation and stewardship programs across the region, took steps toward diversifying paddlesports leadership and recreation and empowered river communities in Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee to discover their own vision for the Tennessee RiverLine.

Tennessee RiverLine Partnership | 2021 Annual Report

This year’s cover of the 2021 Tennessee RiverLine Partnership Annual Report depicts the many different communities that share the banks of the Tennessee River. These communities are connected not only by the river but by the hundreds of thousands of acres of public land that runs along. Tennessee River communities truly are the beating heart of the Tennessee RiverLine.

As we reflect on the many ways we progressed toward our shared vision for the Tennessee RiverLine this past year, they all have one thing in common: partnerships made them possible.

We celebrate this progress in our 2021 Annual Report!

In 2021, we gathered as partners to learn, celebrate and experience our treasured river. Our Virtual Summit convened stakeholders from across the country to share successes, build a common language and reassert diversity, equity and inclusivity as shared priorities.

Up until this year, “2020” has been associated with perfect vision and the ability to see clearly. As the year 2020 unfolded, all of us faced unprecedented challenges and constant change.

Yet amidst the challenges and uncertainties this year presented to us all, 2020 also helped us see more clearly our purpose — to serve Tennessee River communities by providing safe and equitable opportunities, programs and amenities for healthy lifestyles.

The Tennessee RiverLine focused its efforts on empowering its communities, as presented both on the cover and within the 2020 Annual Report.
