Discover the unique ecology of the Tennessee River Valley at Laurel Dace Day, hosted by the Tennessee Aquarium. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the endangered laurel dace—a small fish found only in a handful of streams within the region—and highlights the importance of protecting the waterways that support it.

Through interactive activities, educational exhibits and hands-on experiences, attendees can learn how the health of local streams and tributaries connects to the broader Tennessee River system. Scientists, conservationists and community partners will share insights into the region’s freshwater ecosystems and the ongoing efforts to protect them.

We will be helping host a snorkel excursion to provide an opportunity to get up close and personal with fish!
