WaterWays is thrilled to announce the 38th annual Tennessee River Rescue, happening on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026. How can we foster a healthier environment and beautify the river basin? By joining forces in this cherished community event that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to clean the Tennessee River and its tributaries.
Reflecting on last year’s success, over 1,500 volunteers from twelve counties across three states removed more than 58,000 pounds of trash, 409 tires, and about 1,000 pounds of bulk items from the river shores. Can we surpass these achievements and further raise awareness of the litter challenges impacting our watershed this year?
We encourage individuals, schools, businesses, and community groups to partake in this meaningful initiative. Volunteers will receive event t-shirts and community service hours as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication. Together, we can make a significant and lasting impact.
