Welcome to Our New Blog!

Wecome to our new blog!

Every river has a story—and together, those stories shape the communities, landscapes, and lives along its path.

The Tennessee RiverLine was born from a simple but powerful idea: that the 652-mile Tennessee River could connect us in new ways. From Knoxville, Tennessee, to Paducah, Kentucky, the river weaves through a mosaic of cultures, histories, and ecosystems. Along its banks are the towns and cities that call this region home—and at the heart of it all, a shared vision to celebrate, connect, and catalyze the river that connects us.

The Tennessee RiverLine reimagines the river as a continuous system of outdoor recreation experiences, a 1.2-million-acre river park that enhances quality of life, strengthens local economies, and inspires stewardship of the river and its surrounding landscapes. Powered by partnerships—between communities, universities, agencies, and residents—the RiverLine is a collective investment in opportunity, vitality, and connection across four states.

Why this blog

We’re launching this blog as a storytelling platform to bring that shared vision to life. Here, you’ll find wide-ranging perspectives and authentic voices from across the Tennessee River Valley—stories that explore how people experience, learn from, and contribute to the river’s evolving story.

Through interviews, first-person trip accounts, and reflections on ecology, history, tourism, and cultural heritage, we’ll dive deeper into what makes the Tennessee RiverLine such a powerful idea—and such a living, breathing place. You can also expect fun facts, guest contributions, and behind-the-scenes looks at ongoing projects and community milestones.
