    Regenerative and Organic Farming: Accelerate the adoption of regenerative farming practices, including organic, climate-resilient, equitable, and agroecological approaches. 

    Food Production Workers’ Health and Safety: Amplify efforts to secure healthy, safe, just, and empowering working and living conditions for food production workers. 

    Climate Justice: Expand community-centered solutions to climate change that build resilience and empower those who have been historically marginalized. 

    Healthy Food Access: Advance food systems’ changes that make healthy and sustainably produced food accessible, affordable, and culturally appropriate.

    Mike and Gillian Goodrich Foundation | Eligibility: Alabama | Deadline(s): August 1st, November 1st

    Since 2009, the Mike & Gillian Goodrich Foundation has been providing grants to nonprofit organizations in the Birmingham community, the Black Belt, and the state as a whole to support a variety of programs. From education to the environment, from the cultural arts to neighborhood revitalization, the Foundation has distributed over $37,000,000 in grants to over 260 organizations whose work we are proud to support.

    Starting this year we are taking our love for all things environmental and asking you - or your organization - to tell us why you feel you'd make a great fit for our grant program. We are offering two $3,500 environmental grants per year – one each in the spring and fall – to an individual or group currently pursuing a program or initiative designed to benefit our environment. Some examples of this would be: Trail building or restoration projects, Park beautification events, Litter prevention initiatives, Earth Study missions, Sustainable Land Management activities, Community environmental educational projects, Youth educational engagement events

    Interested individuals or groups should submit a 1000-1600 word essay to grants@quadratec.com that paints a picture of who you or your organization are, what drives and inspires you or your organization, what you or the organization are looking to accomplish, and how you plan to apply our grant to your project.

    Walmart Local Community Grants | Eligibility: All communities | Deadline(s): October 15th, December 31st

    Walmart believes that investing in local communities strengthens our business as well as the communities we serve. Local grants are designed to support local organizations that meet the unique needs of the communities where we operate, build pride among all associates, and deepen relationships with our customers. Each year, Walmart U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs and Distribution Centers award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5000. 

    Colbert County Community Development | Eligibility: North Alabama | Deadline(s): Year-round

    In accordance with Act No. 2008-75 enacted by the Legislature of Alabama, grants may be awarded only for the following purposes: To promote economic development, education, recreation, conservation, and fire protection. To enhance the education of the citizenry through activities, expenditures for capital improvements or equipment, to promote literacy, learning, arts appreciation, public health, and mental health. To promote activities that provide human and social services which reduce the hardships of old age, poor health, or poverty. To promote the marketability, yield or quality of Alabama-produced agricultural commodities. To promote the preservation, restoration, development and propagation of Alabama’s natural resources, recreational facilities, environment, history, culture, transportation lanes, tourism, public safety, and historic landmarks and buildings.

    We use our Four E focus areas (Education, Enrichment of Community, Entrepreneurship and Environment) as guideposts for giving in ways that strengthen our communities. This applies to grants for nonprofit organizations and decision-making around employee participation in company-sponsored volunteer programs.

    Mazda Toyota Manufacturing | Eligibility: Madison County, AL, Limestone County, AL, & Morgan County, AL | Deadline(s): October 1st

    The Mazda Foundation awards grants to programs promoting: Education and literacy, Environmental conservation, Cross-cultural understanding, Social welfare, Scientific research

    Saucony Run for Good | Eligibility: All communities | Deadline(s): December 15th

    Selection of grant recipients will be based on the following: Utilization of running participation for health and/or well-being in children. Serves youth populations not traditionally exposed to running programs. Demonstrates support and inspiration in creating a program that exemplifies the Saucony Run For Good Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of children through running.

    Alabama Power Foundation - Good Roots Grants | Eligibility: Alabama Communities | Deadline: November 7, 2025

    Green spaces contribute to a town’s sense of community, and we are proud to support those efforts through our Good Roots grant program. By providing grant funding to cities, towns and communities to plant trees and support beautification efforts, the foundation and our Good Roots partners are helping keep Alabama beautiful and vibrant.

    Alabama Power Foundation - Students to Stewards Grants | Eligibility: Alabama Communities | Deadline: November 7, 2025

    Students to Stewards provides dynamic stewardship initiatives to schools through conservation education and outdoor classrooms to teach students the importance of preserving Alabama’s natural resources. This grant may also be used to offer alternative learning locations for students during COVID-19 to keep students safe by social distancing.

    Linda and Jerry Bruckheimer Preservation Fund for Kentucky | Kentucky Communities | Deadlines: Feb 1st, June 1st, and Oct 1st

    Supports the preservation of historic buildings, communities, and landscapes in Kentucky. Specifically funds preservation workshops or conferences (and overhead for those working on sponsored projects). Guidelines & Eligibility details are available.

    American Trails - The Trails Capacity Program | All Communities | Deadline: January 1, 2025

    Description: Projects may include trail research, stewardship, and maintenance projects that are inclusive, engaging, educational, and foster improved trail user behavior. This program is targeted for all federal public lands, as well as state, local, and private lands accessible to the general public.

    Rumphius Foundation | 501(c)(3) Organizations in All Communities | Deadline: September 1st 2025

    Description: The Foundation aims to brighten the lives of diverse groups in need by funding projects that enrich communities and educate young people about sustainability and healthy living.

    Swantz Family Foundation |501(c)(3) Organizations in All Communities| Deadline: March 1st

    Description: The Swantz Family Foundation is accepting applications from organizations working to connect children with nature and the outdoors. The Swantz Family Foundation accepts grant requests up to $5,000.

    NATR Fund | Alabama Communities | Deadline: September 1, 2025

    Description: Funds projects that aid in the planning, maintenance, improvement, creation, or promotion of outdoor recreation infrastructure, services, or programming in Northern Alabama.
    Two for Trails | All Communities | Deadline: August 1st

    Description:  Although titled “Two For The Trails,” this program expands beyond trails to include beaches, waterways, parks, and urban areas in need of outdoor maintenance. The goal is to make the outdoors available and safe for everyone.

  • PPG FOUNDATION GREENING STEM GRANTS | Huntsville, AL | Deadline (expected): 04/30/26  

    Description: NEEF and PPG aim to increase grantee teams’ understanding of how to use STEM learning activities to address environmental challenges, engender stewardship, and forge lasting collaborations. 

    Details: This is a grant specifically to do STEM and stewardship education with middle school students in Huntsville, AL. Valid expenses include travel, training, and staff costs.



Technology

  • Alabama Tourism Department | Eligibility: Alabama | Deadline(s): Year-round

    Alabama Tourism Department's Competitive Grants strive to bolster local economies across the state by supporting initiatives that enhance, expand, and promote the visitor industry. Through these grants, we aim to foster community development and attract visitors to the diverse destinations Alabama has to offer.

    UserTesting Charitable Giving | Eligibility: All communities | Deadline(s): Year-round

    The Charitable Giving Program is a social impact initiative at UserTesting focusing on granting monetary donations to nonprofits making a positive, innovative change in their communities. Each quarter, the Charitable Giving Committee, made up of UserTesting employees, meets to review charities that have applied and selects an organization to receive a donation.

    Once we've verified your organization's eligibility, you'll be able to activate Google Ad Grants. Your organization must hold valid charity status in your country. See eligibility requirements and apply for Google for Nonprofits.

    CSX Community Service Grants | Eligibility: Chattanooga, TN; Knoxville, TN; Decatur, AL; Benton County, TN | Deadline(s): December 15th

    Assists organizations that make a strong, measurable impact on their communities. The online application is open year-round, with responses typically provided within 30–45 days.


Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • BlueCross Community Trust | Eligibility: Tennessee | Deadline(s): November 1st

    We support 501 (c) (3) and 501 (c) (4) nonprofit organizations, state colleges and universities, as well as government agencies. We focus our trust funding into four primary areas: Charitable clinics, Disease prevention, early detection and treatment services, Youth health and development programs. 

    Tennessee Disability Coalition | Eligibility: Tennessee | Deadline(s): Fall

    The Coalition's Board of Directors offers an annual small grant award of up to $15,000.00 per grant. In keeping with the mission of the Coalition, the grant awards must BUILD CAPACITY in the disability community and include a sustainability plan.

    Celebrate Urban Birds Mini-Grant Program | Eligibility: All Communities | Deadlines: January 10, 2025

    Description: These mini-grants promote educational events centered on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in birdwatching and ornithology. Priority will be given to community-led applications from underserved communities that share local knowledge and expertise, with an emphasis on culture and the arts.

    Polaris is driven by a desire to make a positive impact on every individual our business touches from helping people enjoy the great outdoors to positively impacting communities.

    The Polaris Foundation is dedicated to long-term investment in the communities where we live, work and play. Monetary grants are made in the following priority areas:

    STEM education and the trades - Supporting opportunities to connect to a broadening consumer and employee community

    Lyndhurst Foundation | Eligibility: Chattanooga, TN | Deadline(s): Year-round

    Lyndhurst awards grants to nonprofit organizations in four priority program areas: Access and Equity; Arts and Culture; Conservation, Parks, and Recreation; and Urban Design and Development. Our staff members cultivate long-term relationships with people, organizations, and communities within the foundation’s declared areas of interest, which can lead to an invitation to apply for a grant. We recognize that nonprofits have limited time, and few unsolicited letters of inquiry or proposals have historically led to a grant. Given these realities, we do not accept unsolicited letters of inquiry or proposals. From time to time, we issue requests for proposals for special initiatives. 

    PNC Foundation | Eligibility: Knoxville, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Decatur, AL, & Huntsville, AL | Deadline(s): Year-round

    The PNC Foundation's priority is to form partnerships with community-based nonprofit organizations in order to enhance educational opportunities, with an emphasis on early childhood education, and to promote the growth of communities through economic development initiatives.

    Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative | Eligibility: All communities | Deadline(s): Year-round

    Each quarter, Yamaha accepts applications from non-profit or tax exempt groups (clubs & associations), public riding areas (local, state and federal), outdoor enthusiast associations and land conservation organizations, and communities with an interest in protecting, improving, expanding and/or maintaining access for safe, responsible and sustainable use by motorized off-road vehicles. Our committee will review each application and award funds to deserving projects.

    T-Mobile Hometown Grants | Eligibility: Communities with fewer than 50,000 residents | Deadline(s): Quarterly

    We’re investing $25M in 500 rural towns over 5 years to jumpstart projects and build stronger communities. Together, we can help upgrade tech at your local library, build new hiking trails, revitalize historic buildings, and so much more. 

    Iron Mountain Solutions Employee Peaks Fund | Eligibility: Huntsville, AL | Deadline(s): October 17th
